As a Queenstowner, Prime is one of those restaurants that you save for those special occasions. You may however be left wanting. The food was all very tasty, delicious side dishes in fact, but when a steak (what they are famous for) ordered medium rare comes out medium well, the anticipation turns to disappointment. On these occasions little indiscretions normally overlooked, like the chipped tableware, an unlit candle and a miserly sprinkling of olives, become the proverbial mountains where the molehills used to be.
Everyone told me to go here for the ribs and they weren't wrong - the ribs were fab. But they never mentioned the Flintstone Steak! What an amazing meal. Great views and really helpful staff. Plus we were given a free drink voucher which was welcome.
Can't wait to go and try other items on their menu - so much choice.
