I love these books, having started reading them in my 20s. They show a side of war not usually explored, looking at the emotional toll on children and the loss of innocence they experience. The movie has of course upped the action but I found the changes they made to suit the format well and faithfully translate the novel to the screen. It was a lot of fun with some good action sequences balanced out with some dramatic bits. I was very very impressed and hope they bring the rest of the series to the big screen.
